My deepest sympathies to Carol and family. I first met Bruce when I joined the Toronto Signals Band. He was very welcoming, had a great sense of humor and a ready smile. He will be truly missed.

I joined the Toronto Signals Band in Oct 1999 and met Bruce for the first time. With Bruce's help I was able to march in that years Kitchener Oktoberfest parade. However, no one told me the parade went from city hall Waterloo to city hall Kitchener.

Bruce and I were the bass drummers. Bass drummers are the ones who always play to keep the unit together. The fact that I finished set us up to be great section mates. He was a mentor in many ways.

A true gentleman.

I first met Bruce at the Harriston Legion, he had a contagious smile, and a firm handshake, I felt I had just made a friend. He had transferred his Legion membership to our Branch, while I was Branch President [1996-98] and with his wife Mary, they became very involved helping at various legion functions. They both were immediately welcomed into our Legion Family. Bruce was appreciated by the members, for his energy and dedication to Harriston Legion Br. #296. He was nominated and elected to the position of Branch President [2000 - 02]. It was a pleasure to have done carpentry work at their beautiful home on Robertson Street in Harriston. Bruce always made it feel like a visit as he worked along with me. I am so sorry for your loss. Most sincerely, Comrade Gary Thackeray

I cherish the memory of visiting with Bruce & Mary, and cousins Anne& Betty and finally meeting Melanie again after so many years. Melaney & Michael Many many good times were enjoyed at the cottage in past years Those 4 o'clocks were extra special for us all with pina colotas garnished with pine needles. Bruce was the press photographer for our 40th wedding anniversary party in 2000. He was excellent and did not let any incident go unrecorded with his camera. Every year the mouse symbol appears on the yearly Christmas Card. Both cottages experienced mouse problems from time to time.

We had wonderful cottage times together beginning in 1980.

Our thoughts are with you both at this time of great sorrow.
